Merry Christmas 2010 to all of our friends & family...
Over the years, I have always enjoyed receiving Christmas cards. Even before I had a family of my own, I remember looking through the ones that would come to my Mom & I. I always loved the ones that had pictures & really enjoyed the few that had taken time to write letters. As I grew to have my own family, I always thought I would someday do the same. It was not until this year, when I lost my Dad, that I decided to finally do it. He had saved his cards & letters from the last 5+ years, and I enjoyed looking through the cards and reading the letters all over again (and some for the first time). So, here it is...our first official Jones Family Christmas Letter :)
Our four kids are growning up so fast, I can hardly believe that it has already been 11 years since Kaden was born. Ellie is now 9, Zander is 6 & Ava just turned 4. They keep us very busy with sports, girl scouts, and school activities - but we would not have it any other way. In fact, this spring we added to our family! We got a little shih-zhu puppy named Charlie Bear, and he has fit right into our family. He has become a big part of our lives already, we love him so much - he is very sweet little guy.
Like most summers, we spent our days at the pool, and our weekends camping. We made the trip back to Indiana Dunes once again this year. This is the 2nd year we've gone, and the kids love it so much that we think we may have to make it a tradition to visit each summer. This fall was the first year that we had three kids playing soccer (yes, I may have complained my way through the entire season...) and it is also the first time that all four of the kids are in school (5th, 3rd, Kindergarten & preschool). I thought that day might never arrive! Of course, I find ways to keep myself busy though. I am still the craft coordinator of my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group & I also do the Ladies Bible Studies (both offered at UVCC) and enjoy them both very much. Harry is still running his own construction business, and loves what he is doing. I am so thankful for his hard work over the years, as it has allowed for me to stay home with the kids - something we both feel strongly about. Our family is still attending Ginghamsburg church for worship each week, and we could not be happier there.
Looking back, this has been a very hard year, for obvious reasons. The loss of my Dad has been the hardest thing that our family has ever had to endure. Thankfully though, we are never alone in our grief - we've got our family & friends surrounding us, as well as SO many wonderful memories of what a great man my Dad was.
We hope & pray that this letter finds you all enjoying the Christmas season, and taking time to remember why it is that we are celebrating. Love & Blessings - Harry, Angi, Kaden, Ellie, Zander & Ava
