1. he lived for a week in the boys room
2. I found him in their mess of a room
3. I actually was able to catch him once I found him :)

(English translation: Help Me)

This past weekend, while we were enjoying the warmer weather, we decided to take the kids to the park.  While they were playing, Ava started to climb up on of those climbing type things, and got stuck after going up just a few levels.  I heard her say "Help, Help!  Ayudame, Ayudame!"  before I could pick myself up from dying of laughter, her big sister rushed to her rescue.  I think this girl watches WAY to much Dora & Diego :)

The last few weeks have been busy, busy, busy - girl scout cookie booth sales, dentist  appts (me this time), being outside enjoying Spring, a night out with my girl friends, brownie stuff, church stuff, and the list goes on & on.  I am looking forward to Spring Break - hopefully wewill not have a bunch of plans.  The only plan I WISH I had, would be a vacation plan, but like most families - it is not happening right now.  Maybe I'll win the lottery in the next few weeks...

Jeff is doing VERY well :)  He is being stepped down to rehab this week!  He is talking, remembering, using his hands, eating real food, etc.  Now he just has to learn to walk again, as he has been lying down for almost 7 weeks now.  It has been a long road, and they say this stage could be long as well...BUT, it could also go quickly too.  We are hoping for the quick side of getting better, as he is already ready to go HOME.

It has also been at least a week since I checked in on any blogs - boy do I miss checking in on all my blogging friends!  Things have been busy here, and I am ready for a SLLLLOOOOOW down this week, but for now I need sleep - so I am off t bed. Hopefully I can catch up with you all tomorrow :)

He lasted exactly one week in our house...and our kids want a dog?  I think not.

I just left Ellie at her first organized Brownie over-night.  We had one already earlier this year, but I stayed, and this time (after MUCH talking) we decided she could do it without me.  Let's hope I do not get any late night phone calls...

spring fever

Today I wore my flip flops, opened some windows & enjoyed the warmer spring air  :)  The good news is, is it going to be even warmer this weekend - woohoo!  They are calling for rain, but temps close to 70 degrees.  I know that we usually get another patch of snow in March, but for the most part, spring is here, and I am happy.  I've got spring fever - I am ready to go outside!

I sent the kids out to play for the first time in quite a while, and since Harry was home, I ran to return some movies and pick a few things up from the store.  I get a frantic call from Harry that Ellie & her friend had gotten into some burrs out in our woods.  The other little girl has hair down the middle of her back and she had hundreds matted in her hair.  I told him I'd be right home a would take care of it.  My first thought was conditioner, and when I came home he was searching the internet for ideas - and that is exactly what it said to do (for dogs, LOL).  I coated her hair and used a comb to get them out, but it took a good half hour, I felt so bad for her.  She was such a trooper though!  The girls now know to stay out of the woods or at least watch for the burrs :)

The big kids had a Dr. Seuss dress up day today - it was such fun helping them make their costumes & get dressed up this morning.  Here they are...

giving up

As I have mentioned, the theme of this month is giving up. 

One of the ways that I have already started giving up my things (before I even knew the theme) was by joining freecycle.  I think I read about it on Rainbow Momma's blog at first, and I joined right away.  I've only listed a few things so far, but it has been helpful in allowing me to let go of our things knowing that someone else will use them.

First, the toddler bed that all of my kids have "used".  It was given to me for Kaden, and I've tried to use it as a transition from the crib to a twin bed with each child.  For each of our kids, it was just a free pass out of the crib....and into our bed :)  Anyway, I finally passed it on (along with a NEW crib mattress) to a young family in need of one.  It felt great to let it go.  And today, a booster seat (for eating at the table) and two paper bags full of toys found a new home where a babysitting Momma needed some toys for the kids she watches. 

I am so proud of me :)  For someone who does not like to get rid of things, I've been doing very good at GIVING UP lately!

So much for the posting everyday, huh?

Yesterday I had my post finished, just no links added, etc.  Things got busy with the kids/dinner/bedtime and when everyone was tucked in & kissed goodnight, I sat on the couch to watch some tv.  We started watching the Bachelor finale even though we did not even watch the series, LOL!  Anyway, I fell asleep - darn it.  I woke up about 1:30 and went to bed  and somehow remembered that I had never posted.  I could not believe that I already messed up...and  it was only the second day :)

I've also bombed on the whole picture a day thing, but I am not going to quit!  I'll keep trying to post everyday for NaBloPoMo - the theme for the month was giving up...and I will not :)  I've also tried to get back to taking pictures everyday, once I stopped taking pictures it was not constantly in my mind like it was in the beginning,  Sure - I did not always post each day, but I never stopped taking the daily pictures until last week. 

Let's try this all again...

• the oh so addicting game bejewled - today was the first day in many that it has not been open on our computer screen taunting Harry & I.  We've spent hours playing it  :)
• lemonades girl scout cookies - a new found love of mine

• the movie Fireproof - we loved it & recommend that couples watch it together!

I am really loving these posts, it reminds me through the tough times that there are joyful things...

• Jeff is following the nurses simple commands today (open/close mouth) & his eyes are also following them around the room!  He has also stepped down out of ICU  :)
• this week was our MOPS pampering week & I was able to get an awesome pedicure - is there anything better?
• pretty red/sparkly toenails (and warm weather that day - I wore flip-flops!)
• lunch with my girlfriends this afternoon
• family movie & pizza night tonight - we are watching Space Buddies

• Ava is wearing one of Ellie's old dresses today & it is one that I have always loved (see picture of her taken today - I came home from getting movies to find her sleeping like this)
