catching up (the short version)

• Friday was Ellie's cheer thing & it was lots of fun, even though she was quite nervous about being out there in front of everyone
• this weekend we went away for the weekend, and stayed in a hotel up at the lake, trying for a mini-vacation of sorts
• Zander's cast ended up wet after a bath Saturday morning, so I went & bought a waterproof sleeve (for $30!) for  the rest of his 3 weeks.  It loosened up some over the weekend, and he could slip it up & down a little...
• His first day of preschool was Tuesday, but it was the day that parents were able to stay too, tomorrow is his "real" first day.  He wrote (copied)  his name for the first time ever at school that day - I was shocked!
• he is already asking me to not leave him at school, as he will miss me (*sniff*)  I am worried how things will go tomorrow
• today his cast was really moving, so he decided to TAKE IT OFF.  It slid right off, causing an emergency trip to the Dr to be re-casted, where I received a lecture about keeping it dry (duh!)  I had tried the first time, covering it with a bag & taping it closed, and assured the Dr that with his waterproof sleeve, it would stay dry for the next 2 weeks while it (hopefully) heals completely
• this weekend I am going to visit a friend out of town and stay OVERNIGHT away from my family for the very first time ever (or at least since having Zander & Ava - yes, that is FOUR YEARS ago...)  I am very excited to get some time away

I can't wait for Saturday!!! I just pray that Hanna does not affect my flight (supposed to fly Jax to Charlotte, NC then to Columbus).
