STRONG WINDS WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH WILL CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING. THE SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO NEAR ZERO AT TIMES CAUSING WHITEOUT AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS TODAY.

It is beautiful here today. And quiet. Living right on a State Rt, that is not the norm. Obviously, there is not much traffic here today.
I am not sure yet on our snow totals, and there is still more to come too. To say it is "deep" just does not seem enough.
We are all inside, cozy and warm and safe, and will stay that way for the weekend. I have already started to search for things to keep the kids busy :) They've asked to do recipes, so I'll let you know what we come up with.
Our other big "plan" is to tackle the basement toy room. The kids are not even going down there (again) because it is so messy (again). I am hoping to get us all down there his afternoon, working together, and get it back to where they will want to go down there to play. We are going to need the extra space in the next few days, and the "new" (read as found) toys can always help keep them busy.
I went to the grocery last night and joined every other person in the free world *sigh* It was super busy (understatement of the year) so I just grabbed a few things to help get us through the weekend...ingredients for a big pot of chilli for the grown ups, and macaroni & cheese for the kids :) Can't forget the popcorn, as well as a bag of mini marshmellows for hot chocolate.
Such simple things, but we will all be happier now because of them!

At least it's on the weekend when you really don't have to go anywhere. What's up with you getting hit with all that weather? Not that I'm complaining that it has missed MN.
