Zander: "actually, I did that while I was sleeping tomorrow"

me: *big cheesy grin* "you what?"

Zander: "I did that" (points to blow dryer)

me:  "the blow dryer? You did this tomorrow?  While you were sleeping?"

Zander: *grins* "yes" (and walks out of the bathroom)

me: totally confused and giggling thinking I HAVE to blog that so I never forget those little things. Oh, how I love the little things....

Let's getaway

A long weekend sounds WONDERFUL, and lucky me...I get one!  We're going camping and leaving today.  I should be packing (LOL) but I am wasting some time on the computer because the kids are busy playing.  All of them. Quietly.  It will not last long, believe me, but it is nice while it lasts.

I am excited to go camping.  Last year was kind-of a bummer.  I was sick (pregnant sick) & tired ALOT.  Zander was too young to really get into the fun things (playground/mini-golf/hiking/nature center) and the weather was not the best.  The year before we had a BLAST and sould not wait to go back.  Last year made me never want to go back, LOL!  But we are, and I am excited.  The weather is calling for a gorgeous weekend.  Not too hot/humid, cooler nights & sunny all weekend. 

As long as my sore boob (lack of a better word) does not cause any other problems, we are all good to go. Yes, I am still sore.  No, I have not been to the Dr.  It is feeling much better though, just sore, and I have read that clogged ducts can do that.  They just leave you that way for awhile.  I've seen a big drop in my supply, but I am still working hard at it.  I've given her a bottle of formula here and there when it seems she is really hungry & I've got nothing left.  I KNOW that does not help, but when you are sore and she is upset, you do what you have to.  I just keep feeding & feeding & feeding.  I can easily continue that this weekend too.  Nothing on the agenda other than realxing and having FUN with the kids.  No TV, no computer (although I did read that the state park we are going to now has wireless!!) just the family being together, enjoying each other.

My favorite part is the creek.  Do not let it fool you, this is no ordinary creek.  This one has waterfalls, swimming holes & rope swings. It is a natural swimming pool at it's best, and we love it.  We walk up it, and at one point it has a slate-like bottom (not all uneven & rocky like creeks are) where you can walk what seems like miles.  It is beautiful & clean, I love it!

I can not wait...off to pack :)

Little miss sunshine

I am thinking I need her help...maybe this book would do??  I used to be such a Miss Sunshine, but four kids later....I am quite the grump some most days. 

Like today.  My almost THREE year old is not potty trained yet.  He is getting closer each day and he WANTS to wear underwear.  He will even take off his diapers & put them on.  Then he pees in them.  Wherever he is in the house.  He does not care, but I do.  I am tired of cleaning up puddles all over the house.  I know this will not last forever, but somedays it sure feels like it will.  And that feels crappy.

Where is Little Miss Sunshine when you need her?  Can someone send her my way? 

And maybe she even has a friend named Little Mr Pottytrained that she could bring with her ...

Today I am still sore & watching for signs of masititis.  But, the burning is starting to make me think thrush. 

I used genetian violet this am just in case, and figured it can not hurt.  Antibiotics, on the other hand, can make thrush worse instead of better... IF that is what I have. 

I just need to see the Dr.  I just hate going if I can help it.  Plus I really can not see anything that points to mastititis or thrush (yet) but the pain is almost unbearable.  It hurts off & on, but when I start to nurse her....I could scream.  I been on the verge of tears a few times, it hurts that bad. 

I can see why people quit nursing when they deal with this.  I KNOW that it is the worst thing to do, and I will not quit, but I can see why people do. 

Pumping hurts a little less, so I am thinking I will pump next time I need to use that side, just until it stops burning so badly.   UGH...this is just a pain to deal with!  I am feeling a little down today too.  The kids are really wanting NEEDING to get out, and I need to just relax and take care of myself.  We've been home since Friday, and spent alot of that time inside because of the weather not being the best.  I am SO ready to get of the house!!! 

I want to go to the pool & let them burn off some energy.  Maybe I will.  I know I probably shouldn't, but staying home with three wound up kids is getting me LESS relaxation than being out and about today *sigh*

OUCH!

I am in pain. Extreme pain.

I thought I had a clogged duct before, and I dealt with it fairly easily.  A little lecithin, lots of water and lots of nursing & I was good to go.  It lasted about a day & a half and was painful, but not like this.

O.M.Goodness this HURTS!!!

I woke up this morning & felt a little soreness and slightly "full", so I started to nurse her on that side first.  This happens quite often now that she sleeps throught the night, so no big deal.....wrong!  I realized that the full-ness was not going away & also soon realized that I was more than a little sore. And as she nursed, it hurt worse.   I tried switching positions and "dangling nursing" (I had read that somewhere the last time I dealt with this) to try & let gravity help.  No such luck.  I nursed her for close to an hour. No relief.

It is now 10 AM, and we've been awake since 7:30.  Nursing, drinking, pumping, hot showering....and still no luck.  It is burning and lumpy and OUCH!  She is napping now, so I am hoping that when she wakes she'll be hungry again & if I am lucky, we'll get it cleared up.

As I am typing I remember what else I was going to blog about this weekend...her crazy nursing the last two days.  I am betting that I was already dealing with a slight clog now.  She was acting as if she could not get enough.  Pulling & twisting the whole time she was nursing.  I kept telling Harry to watch her gymnastics, it was crazy.  I was getting upset (it HURT!) and now I feel badly.  She was probably just hungry & not getting the milk fast enough....poor baby.

SO, please pray that I heal quickly.  I am in major pain & I DO NOT WANT TO GET MASTITIS.  I dealt with that with my 1st and I thought I'd die.  Literally.  104 fever, I could not get out of bed.  Harry had to almost carry me to the bathroom.  It was horrible!

Okay, apparantly this is not my day.  As I was typing this, Zander decided to pee & poop in his underwear and take them off and (in his words) "swing out the poop" in his underwear.  On the living room floor. 

Thank God for hardwood floors *sigh*

I am confused as to why I decided to let the kids have sleepovers, and even more so, why I let them BOTH do it the same night.  What was I thinking?

Last night & this morning have been filled with the kids singing the k-i-s-s-i-n-g song about each other, and lot of the boys chasing/scaring the girls, and the girls screaming & hiding in the tent, etc.  All stuff that seems too young for my 5 & 7 year old.  It has added SO much more chaos/busy-ness because I do not appreciate/allow this kind of stuff, so I am following the kids around correcting NEARLY everything they are doing...UGH! 

Finally, at this moment, the boys are in one room playing legos & the girls are watching Little Rascals in the another.  Poor Zander is stuck somewhere in between.  The girls do not want him....he is a boy.  The boys do not want him, as he is too little.  So, he keeps going between the two.  He is in the with the girls now, but he is playing his own legos, as he is not welcome with the BIG boys right now.

As for his bug-bitten leg, it is getting much better.  I had a loooong post yesterday, but my explorer crashed before I posted.  Long story short, it was looking much worse (purple/gray colored, VERY swollen) yesterday & we went to see the Dr.  Come to find out, it looked to her like cellulitus.  He came out of the office all marked up, as they wanted to watch the swelling/redness. I decided (after much deliberation) if we should go to the pool as planned, and we did.  Everyone thought the chlorine would kill any infection....I was worried about him gettin run down from the heat & sun.  The chlorine idea won, and we went for a little while, and I think it worked, as it is no longer purple and the swelling is way down.

Today it is rainy & I had hoped to relax and get Zander's birthday plans finalized, but I am getting a whole lot of NOTHING accomplished.  Ava just woke up from her nap too, so I have to get off the computer and back to business :)

Home again from the Lake. 

Lots of unpacking & laundry to do *(sigh)*

Zander was bitten by something on his little leg that we are keeping an eye on.  There are two bumps, surrounded by the puffiness/redness/tightness, it is very sore and hot. We gave him benedryl and have a cut potato on it now (heard that should draw out the poison??)  I figured it could not hurt, and he is asleep anyhow.

Now I am off to bed as well, it has been a looong (but fun) couple of days!

I have noticed that I have more & more places to "hang out" online these days.  As I have mentioned before, my first online love was babycenter.  I spent any/all of my online time there on message boards, etc. 

Then everyone there (November '06 board) as well as friends here at home started talking about myspace.  I thought it was just a single/teenage site, but come to find out, many of my old friends from High School are there too.  It has been fun spending time there & checking out the profile pages of others as well.  Here is my myspace page.

  It is fun to check out the other sites though.  I love the blogs at ClubMom and Mom's Daily Dose can almost always make me smile/laugh  :)

Somehow I started this post and was sidetracked (imagine that, LOL) and now it is after midnight & I NEED some sleep.  This week at the pool has worn me out!!
