I am still behind, but here are more of my 10 day creative challenge layouts. * some are paper & some are digi*
Day4 &5 combined (I had trouble with the repetitive thing, LOL)

As most of you know by now, Scrapmommies is no longer :( I am already missing it like crazy, but have ben in touch with some of the gals there still & that is FUN!!
Maria (Maria in CT) had posted an inspiration piece & I decided to use it, then figured out the Day #3 of Rhonna's challenge was to use an INSPIRATION piece....YAY!

And, because I am looking for a new scrapping "home" I have ck'd out a few sites here & there. Another SM friend Karen (Hom74) had recommend Jen Wilson Designs...and I am in LOVE so far! I even joined this cool CONTEST: http://www.jenwilsondesigns.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=30 which is my VERY FIRST EVER CONTEST :) It was FUN to do, because I did not think about the fact that it was a contest, and I just SCRAPPED!

I LOOOOOOVE Rhonna's challenges & I SO SO SO NEEDED this one! I've been in a creative RUT, and the new challenge is:
Creativity Exercise A Day.... for 10 days!!
Day #1: Do something you've never done before.
Here is my layout & what I did was ~ BE FREE!
When it comes to paper scrapping, I am a hoarder... afraid to actually use the stuff that I have, LOL!
Today I did not even know where I was going, I just grabbed some of my favorite things & started scrapping.
It felt GREAT & I love the layout that came from it! It is busy & cluttered & FUN!!
Because I am mostly a digital scrapper, I could make layouts like this without using up my stash (LOL) but I did it today without worrying that I would waste the papers/embelishments/etc!
AND... I am usually a simple scrapper, using just a few things on a layout so this was different for me! I also used stuff that I did not think matched, actually used embellishments (I do not use this stuff often ~ because I do not buy alot of it), used adhesive ribbon tape (my first time), stapled stuff on (a fave of mine in digital), and used some rub-ons that I was hoarding!

I've enjoyed the CREATIVE PROCESS!!
I made it through my first born going to FIRST GRADE :) He was very ready & confident, just like last year (when he ran right into the building alone)!!
I am SO proud of him & I am proud of me too because I kept myself together :) I teared up as I was leaving, but ran into another parent and started chatting, so I was saved from a breakdown...LOL!
It does make it much easier when they are ready too, and not acting upset at all. When I picked him up, he went on & on about how much he loved it ~ YAY!
His only complaint was that he was hungry, and I knew he would be. He is going through a hunger spurt and we always have a snack in the afternoon around 2:30-3:00, and he gets out at 3:15. By the time we were home he was MORE than ready for a snack and asking for dinner nearly an hour later. I guess we'll be starting a new "afterschool snack routine" and I'll make sure dinner is ready by 5:00 while he is going through this. I am hoping it is a growth spurt because he is still small for his age & is starting to notice it more lately.
I had a nice evening of scrapping last night & it was SOO relaxing and FUN! Harry took Kaden to soccer & the little ones played down in the toyroom giving me some much needed scrap therapy, LOL!
I started an album for Kaden's 1st grade stuff, one for Ellie's preschool stuff, and put all of Ava's stuff together in hers finally too. Some of it is digital & some is paper, and it is fun for me to mix the two up together. Maybe I'll scan some things in & share them later.
I also grabbed all of the kids' babybooks and caught up on the lastest accomplishments, and added some pictures as well. I LOVE those books so much & hope that they all love looking through them as they get older. They already enjoy the pictures, but the things that I have written in them will be special to them later on in life.
Over to the right is a pic of the sunflowers Ellie & I picked out while we were grocery shopping yesterday. I've never been the type that can keep plants alive & thriving (LOL) so fresh flowers are my new found LOVE!! Ever since Harry & the kids brought me those colored daisies a few weeks back, I have really enjoyed having fresh flowers around. I keep them next to my desk & they really do brighten up my day when I see them.
Another thing that I have making me happy today is a Glade "clean linen" candle burning. I have always loved that scent in the spray & now they have the powder that you sprinkle on carpets too! Yesterday, while vaccuming, I had it all over my couch & the carpets, and I think maybe the matresses are next, LOL! It make the whole house just smell so fresh & clean!
Okay, speaking of clean, I told the kiddos we would go down & clean the toy room. It has been a looooong time since I have cleaned it really well. They pick it up (or try to) but when I go down there & organize things, they can have so much more fun because they can actually find all of the things that are made to go together, LOL!
I can not believe that we are getting the kiddos ready to go back to school already! This weekend we need to shop for school supplies & a few new outfits (hoping to catch some of the great summer clearance, LOL)! Kaden already starts Tuesday & will be gone alllllll day! I can't get over it, and keep asking him about lunch (if he wants to pack or buy). I do not know why, but that seems like a HUGE deal to me that I will no longer be the one feeding him lunch!? I am guessing that most Mommy's feel this way, and that I am in the norm(??).
I am looking forward to some time with Ellie. She will not be going back until Sept 6th, so we have a couple of weeks with Kaden gone all day & we have BIG plans, LOL! I told her that since she does not need school supplies that we would HAVE to stock up on craft stuff & have FUN times together before she goes back. Her & Kaden fight SO MUCH these days that just having him gone will prob make her VERY happy!!
THEN, when she goes back on M/W/F afternoons, it will just be Zander & I until baby Ava joins us! I am OVERJOYED at the thought of having that much time alone with him! I bet most of our one on one time will be spent doing playdough, which seems to be his favorite thing at the moment. So many changes to be excited about right now :)
Hubby & I have a date night planned this weekend too...YAY! Now I just have to decide on a place to eat that will not throw my gallbladder over the edge! Hmmm.......
Okay, I have to get on with my day, it is my good friend Erica's Birthday and we are going to visit her this afternoon. The kids all play very well together & we get to sit and relax usually :) Sounds GREAT to me right now!

Just wanted to give a BIG thanks to my friend Kim who had mentioned on her blog that she had designed a header for someone on e-bay (Colby Lane Designs).
When I read that it was for a whimisical boutique & it said baby bibs, I just had to check it out, LOL!
And of course, now I have to share this ADORABLE bib that I just bought for Ava! OMGoodness...I could easily buy one of each girly one, they are all SOO cute! The backs are lined with chenile too, so I know it will not only look great, but feel wonderful to her as well!
Just gotta love FABULOUS finds like these bibs :)

I also have another new layout that I was able to put together this morning. I have been using Traci Reed's "Shape it up" layered sketches, and they are SOO fun & easy.

Also on the HAPPY note, I want to share that I started reading a book a loooong time ago now called "The Worn Out Woman: When your life is full and your spirit is empty". Well, yesterday when I was going to the Dr I decided to grab it on the way out the door. I have always known that you can see God working in your life in ways that you might not have thought about, but this time it is just SO obvious to me & I felt I had to share!
So, the chapter I opened the book back up to was called "Face to the sunshine" and I immediately thought back to one of the days in Rhonna's challenge a while back when I did this layout & I thought staying positive was what I really needed to work on.
Well, if you've read my blog (or talked with me) in the last few weeks you will know that I have been ANYTHING BUT POSITIVE. I've been whining & complaining all the time!!
Boy, did I ever need to read this chapter right now...and SOMEONE *winks* knew that & led it right into my hands yesterday ~ WOW! One of the things I really LOVE about this book is that it quotes scripture, and gives you guidance on how to see the GOOD things in your life. There were three suggestions given for staying positive:
And each chapter ends with a little activity for you to do & I decided to share the one I chose to inspire/motivate you (in case you need some more SUNSHINE in your life too)!
*For the next 5 nights, write down five specific blessings before you go to sleep (trying for a different set of blessings each night). Read them to yourself first thing when you wake up*
Of course I saw a scrapping project to write these in...a blessings journal :) I did not start last night, but plan to start tonight, even if I do not get a journal finished, LOL!

I am not an "I love Monday's" kind of girl, but last week was just plain YUCK & I am ready for a clean start :)
After all of the computer problems, the tech guy arrived Saturday & it was FIXED...YAY! Of course Saturday I spent much of the day trying to catch up on e-mails and catching up on things at Scrapmommies too. We have some very EXCITING things planned for the 1 year Anniversary/Birthday (the weekend of Sept 9th). Well....after a pretty productive day, I was trying to scrap & noticed that my virtual photog was gone & decided to re-install. I did, but it still was not showing up in PS, so I decided to re-boot....and *POOF* my computer would not come on AGAIN!!
Being that the guy told me it was a video card problem (like I really know what the video card is....LMBO) I thought it may have had something to do with having enough memory to run the video card maybe (??) and that I threw it back over the edge when I tried the install. So, I thought I'd play around with the laptop instead, but the internet connection would not work on it, so I called it an early night & went to bed (pouting) at 10 PM!
The next day (Sunday) we went to church, then out to our family reunion at the Jones Family Pond. It was a nice relaxing day, but the poor kiddos were eaten alive by mosquitos before we thought to spray them down with bug spray. They caught a tiny little frog & I had flash backs to my younger tomboy days as I saw my little Ellie (dressed all girly, of course) down on her knees trying to catch it...SOOO cute! Of course, my camera was in my purse in the car though, so no pics...but a great memory none the less :)
After we came home & I made the dreaded LOWFAT DIET grocery trip, I sat down to try to figure out the laptop. I spent over an hour of the phone with internet techs & we tried EVERYTHING with no luck. They scheduled me for a service call this AM, and apologized for not being able to help...GRRRRR! So I go to bed mad again (NOT GOOD!!) all over the computer issues.
Well, here we are today & I got a call from a tech that said "we just do not see a problem on our end" and suggested that we try a modem reboot. Of course, that 2 minute solution worked...YAY! Insetad of being angry about the HOUR wasted last night, I was just thankful that at least I had one computer fixed, LOL! I guess now I know that everytime you switch an ethernet cable between computers, you need to reboot so that the modem sets to the new IP address...whew!
A little later the computer guy that came to fix my desktop on Saturday returned my call & I explained what had happened Saturday night. He said that the soonest he could be here was Wed evening, but could tell me a way to at least get into windows. I figured that if I could do that I could at least try to uninstall virtual photog until he comes to get the new video card installed. He also tells me that within my device manager I may be able to reload my drivers & see if that works, because it was not working properly before. I agree & tell him that if I get it figured out, I'll let him know, otherwise I'll see him Wed.
I FIXED IT :) Yes, I did it! I went to the device manager & found the driver that was not working (which is easy thanks to the little yellow triangle/exclamation point thingee that Windows sticks on stuff that is not working, LOL) and I reloaded it, or repaired it, or something...but it worked! Then I unistalled everything & have only re-insalled PS & virtual photog so far, and things are running great & SOOO FAST! I am SO proud of myself...YAY me :)
This is why I am loving this Monday & the prospect of a new week! I also found out that this is the last week off school, so I have plans to ENJOY IT. I have heard nothing from Kaden's school, but a cousin told us that school starts Tuesday August 22nd and I FREAKED! I called the Board of Ed this Am and found out she was right & Open House is next Monday. Today is the first day that the Secretaries are back in school, but I think that ONE WEEK notice (and that was because I called them!!) is a little ridiculous!
He is going to be in FIRST GRADE and a Mother needs time to prepare for a thing like that, don't you think? ;)
Okay...some feedback is needed here please! This kit has been in the works for a while now, but what does it still need? WHat elements would you like to see added??
