{Ahh..the little things}

whew...

it's been a busy week already! 

I am just getting my first chance to really relax & I can feel it all hitting me.  My eyes are getting heavy sitting here, and it is only 3:45, LOL!

Let's see...I mentioned cloth diapers & that I bought my first one.  Well, I had been reading alot about them & thinking it might be something I could do.  Then Ava started having multiple diaper messes everyday, and I knew that I had to atleast try them.  I was washing her laundry so much (and that was my concern with cloth) and I was worried about all of the stains on her clothes, etc.  So, I decided to search on e-bay for some cloth to try & I found alot of handmade diapers that I really liked.  Of course I bought a few styles (fitted cloth, all-in-one, and one with pocket/inserts) to try out  and they are all cute girly prints too :)  I am VERY excited to get them & get started.  So far I have 6 coming to start out.  I have 3 big bags of disposable diapers right now too, so even if I decide to go to all cloth, I have some time to buy more.

Tonight I get some Mommy time & I CAN NOT WAIT. 

I did get some time today during MOPS too.  I fed Ava just as I arrived, then took her into the nursery & she stayed there the whole time.  I was nervous and kept looking at the door waiting for them to come get me..but they did not need to.  She took a little nap and when I picked her up she was being rocked by one of the workers...so sweet!

That two hours flies by though, and I was still thinking of her the entire time.  Tonight, she'll be home with Daddy and I get to reeeeeeeelax with the girls at a "purse party" where the show/sell designer knock-offs.  I do not need a new purse, but will gladly go hang out with my girlfriends all evening  :)

Okay, I have a sink full of dishes awaiting me *UGH*

it's time

Tomorrow is a MOPS day & we can only keep our babies with us until 3 mths of age, or if nursing them.  Ava will be 4 mths (!!!!!!!!!) next week, so tomorrow she will be in the nursery for the first time.  I am nervous, yet know she will be fine.  We have GREAT volunteers that take AWESOME care of our little ones!

She is going through a nursing about every 1 1/2 hour while awake stage anyway, so I know they will be coming to get me at some point.  Maybe I'll get lucky & she'll nap and I can have 2 full hours of  Mommy time!!  That would be great :)

We'll see....I'm not counting on it though!

You're HOT

Zander's first lesson on slang terms...

Holly called Zander "HOT" today because she thought he looked cute.  Because we never say that  to our kids, he thought "HOT" meant "temperature"  :)  (I guess the fact that they were all hot with fevers not too long ago was part of this).

He placed the back of his hand on his forehead, and made a strange face..."I not HOT" he said.  We were cracking up laughing.  Later, he and her daughter were also running around & yelling.  Holly's eyes grew big as you could hear her daughter yelling "crap"... and then Zander would copy her, but he was yelling "crack" instead since he had never heard "crap" before.  Again we wer giggling (without him knowing) at his innocence.  I hope I can keep him that way fora long time to come :)

  Today Ava wore a dress that used to be mine! 

My Grandma (Nanny) had saved a few things from when I was a baby and gave them all to me.  I had not tried anything on her yet, and was sad to find that there were a few that already looked as if they were too small.

The one she wore today reminded me of Raggedy Ann with the plaid & the pinafore/apron :)

Oh, how I loved that doll.  I need to find the picture of the one my Mom made me...it was literally bigger than life size!!  It was as big as an adult when it was sitting in my Moms rocker (which is now MY rocker)!!

I think she knew it was special because she was just full of grins when I decided that I needed to get a picture to send to my Mom and Grandma.

I wish I had a picture of myself wearing it to compare to, it would be fun to see us both in the same dress!

I have more to talk about , but i AM FALLING ASLEEP SITTING HERE (oops! I hit caplock)

gorgeous day

It is still bitter cold, but the sun is shining!  :)

My big plans for the day include a trip to Bath & Body Works to buy the new scent in the Signature Collection....wild honeysuckle.  I received the ad yesterday and just KNOW that I will love it.

I also want to get some new shoes.  I planned on it when I was still pregnant, but just never did.  I really wanted some with pink or another light color on them, but two of my friends have brown ones that I just LOVE too....decisions, decisions.

When I get back home, I plan on packing up all the gifts I've yet to mail :)

Kiddos are reading books,   Avers is asleep in the swing, and I am off to the shower.

even more on my mind...

I've been very bothered by the passing of Anna Nicole, and was unsure why.  Each day I hear more & more, and I just do not like what I see/hear.  I am upset, but was unsure how to make my feelings heard & understood.  Then, I read this post today and it made me feel that I was not alone in my feelings about her.

Oh, I *heart* Beth Moore.  Her Bible studies are the ones that I have taken place in through my church over the last year or two.  She is AMAZING, and she makes me laugh & cry all in one speech/video.  And she LOVES the Lord with all of who she is.   She inspires me :)

I've been thinking about my health & body alot lately.  Now that I know I am finished having children, I feel like I need to get back into shape. 

I first need to get my cravings for sweets under control.  I can not believe how much I want to eat/drink sweet things these days.  My daily cappuchino trips are adding MANY un-needed calories to my diet.  I am wondering if it the nursing that is causing these cravings??  I feel like I did when I was pregnant...if I get something in my mind that I want, I just MUST have it.

I need to get gain some self-control, I know that I do.

I am no where near getting all of my thoughts down, but my computer is getting warm & making some strange noises, so I am thinking that I better shut down for the night. 

Everyone is asleep, so I will get to bed myself.

• get a birthday gift for Kaden's friend

• finish wrapping & mail Katelyn's gift (late)
• pack & mail gifts to A, T & G (waaaay late)
• I am trying to write some letter to the kiddos (I've seen some GREAT ones on a few blogs & I really want to capture some of my thoughts right now) escp concerning Ava being my last baby...yes, it is starting to hit home...and yes, it will be okay !!
• I am sure I am forgetting something :)
• but at least I have a reference to SOME of the things I need to get finished

As for Aunt Pam (taken from an e-mail today)

They’re supposed to do her pelvis surgery tomorrow & start weaning her off the drugs for the induced coma they have/had her in.  She is expected her to be in hospital about a month.

UGH!  That seems like such a looong time...

Kaden has his first overnight party tonight.  He has stayed overnight places before, but this is the first friend from school (not already a family friend), so  I am nervous (of course), and he is excited, and Harry thinks nothing of it (or at least he is not making an issue of it, LOL).

I tried to get back to my Thurs. Bible Study yesterday (they are starting on part 2, and was told it would be an okay place to join in).  It started at 10:00, I got there at 10:30ish *sigh* and it usually begins at 9:00!!  It was VERY hard to get everyone ready/out the door with everyone/lunches packed/diaperbag packed/etc. 

I am thinking that maybe I am not ready to get back into it yet.  It was GREAT to see eveyone though & they all were making over Ava, and she was just grinning like crazy... rotten girl :)

She was asleep when we arrived, and there were NO BABIES  in the infant area, just young toddlers (like begining walkers).  And one teacher with all 5-6 (??) of them running/waddling around.  There was no way I was comfortable leaving her.  I asked if they wanted me to take her, or leave her...and they said I should take her.  Good thing :)  Because the workers during service are the opposite, they are asking when she will be staying.  With all of the sickness/snow/hubby working a TON, we've not been to church in a month or so anyway, so she was not old enough to stay yet.  Now she is...and I'm SO not ready for that!!

Okay, hubby is home & we are off to get Kaden's friend his gift, so I can cross another thing off my list :)

Last I was updated, his Aunt was having surgery on her wrist (for multiple breaks), and the next surgery is for her broken pelvis.  She is still in an induced coma & is considered in serious condition.

It's been a busy day here, and I need to get on with my evening.  Can't wait for Grey's Anatomy tonight, there is supposed to be a death of a major character...

foggy day

here.   So foggy, in fact,  that they've canceled school!

My friend called to see if Kaden would like a playmate for the day (aka me babysit her nephew) and he is SO very excited to have something to do today.  She also has a daughter & niece there that were going to go to the other sitters, and I told her they could come here too if they wanted.  So, I may have seven kids here today.  It sounds like alot, but when I had them a handful of times in the summer, it worked out just fine.  It was busy, but fun. 

Kaden read about a craft on his cereal box this AM & I'm off to get supplies before the crowd arrives, so we'll have something to do today.

Please send your prayers.  Harry's Aunt Pam (my Aunt in-law??) was in a serious car accident last night, rear-ended by a semi on the interstate.  She is being kept unconscious & has some serious injuries (all non-life threatening so far).  I'll keep you posted as I know, and am requesting prayer not only for her (of course) but her/our large extended family.  She is one of TEN children, and she has 4 children & 3 grandchildren.  Her daughter lives out-of-state and must travel (with her two kids) to be here.  Everyone is devastated & needs some comfort/peace in the weeks to come.
